SOUTHERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY DENIES CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS

Southern Illinois University Carbondale has de-recognized the Christian Legal Society student chapter I am part of. I love SIU School of Law and this decision truly saddens me. It is a shame that SIU feels compelled to deny our First Amendment freedoms. I will write more after I have had a chance to gather my thoughts.

Update:

This is the beginning of a long legal battle and I will keep you updated as the story unfolds.

I would like to note that it is the university itself and not the law school that is trampling our First Amendment rights. The law school faculty and administration have always treated me well and I am very proud of my law school. I would be shocked if the law school faculty or administration followed the university's example of treating me like a second-class citizen.
